Country Medical Directors, CFOs, and Medical Advisors at Ferring encountered significant challenges when tasked with crafting compelling presentations for the company’s board of directors. The core issue was not just the complexity of the data and information they needed to convey but also the requirement to do so in an engaging manner that would capture and hold the attention of the board throughout the presentation.
This necessitated a shift towards a storytelling approach, which could effectively communicate the urgency of the topics discussed and ensure that the message was both understood and memorable.
Ferring Pharmaceuticals partnered with MLC Presentation Design to enhance its presentation efficiency and attractiveness using the company’s templates. The collaboration aimed to address the challenges of time efficiency and engaging storytelling in presentations, critical for conveying research results and new medical products to a board of directors.
Ferring faced challenges in creating engaging board presentations due to complex data and the need for captivating delivery. This required adopting a storytelling approach to clearly convey urgent topics and ensure the board’s sustained interest, making the information memorable.
Participants mastered storytelling with the MLC Strategic Canvas and engagement strategies, alongside hands-on PowerPoint training, including shortcuts and the MLC PowerPoint Add-in to enhance productivity.
MLC’s training significantly improved Ferring Pharmaceuticals’ presentation skills, blending theory with practice for various corporate levels. Participants learned to create compelling, visually appealing presentations efficiently. SOLUTION
Participants learned how to structure a compelling storyline using the MLC Strategic Canvas, acquiring hooking strategies to keep the audience engaged from the beginning to the end of their presentations.
The practical aspect of the course was with hands-on PowerPoint where Ferring had a chance to practice key shortcuts and discover the MLC Add-in, a software to boost productivity on PowerPoint.
MLC identified Ferring’s needs through discussions with HR department and delivered the Lean Presentation Design course, covering theoretical and practical aspects of effective presentation.
MLC Presentation Design Consulting’s key insight for Ferring Pharmaceuticals centered on the complex nature of scientific data: it wasn’t just about simplifying for aesthetics but making it digestible for crucial decision-making.
This revelation highlighted the importance of transforming detailed scientific information into engaging narratives, addressing clarity and audience engagement.
MLC’s strategy focused on equipping Ferring’s team with the skills to enhance presentation design and craft compelling stories from dense data, ensuring meaningful communication in the pharmaceutical context.
The MLC Team worked together with the HR Manager to understand their training needs in presentation design and storytelling. We therefore tailored a custom online course in which participants worked to construct effective storylines and persuasive presentations using their company colours and template.
Finally, to consolidate the knowledge acquired during the course, a Live Pitch Competition at Ferring’s Milan HQ allowed participants to apply learned skills, working on a custom case study, resulting in well-structured, attractively designed presentations crafted in half the usual time.
RESULTS
The result of MLC Presentation Design’s intervention with Ferring Pharmaceuticals was a significant transformation in how their professionals approached and executed presentations. Through comprehensive training that combined theory with practical application, participants from various corporate levels achieved newfound efficiency and effectiveness in presentation design.
