Empowering Innovation Champions and Marketing Directors through Microsoft Copilot and Lean Presentation Design

Lactalis turned to MLC Presentation Design Consulting to address cultural resistance and limited adoption of Microsoft Copilot.

Through a two-phase project involving Innovation Champions and Southern Europe Marketing Directors, MLC transformed skepticism into confidence by combining advanced presentation techniques with real-life use cases of AI.

From internal ambassadors to top-level stakeholders, participants were guided in applying Copilot to extract insights, create social campaigns, and present innovation.

cLIENT BACKGROUND

Lactalis is a global leader in the dairy industry, with operations in over 100 countries and a strong focus on innovation and quality. Despite its scale and investment in technology, the company faced internal friction when it came to adopting AI tools in day-to-day operations.

cHALLENGE

The Innovation team needed to introduce AI capabilities—specifically Microsoft Copilot—to a skeptical audience.

The first challenge involved creating internal ambassadors among Innovation Champions who were both early adopters and internal influencers. Despite their sensitivity to new technologies, they were diffident about the real utility and maturity of Copilot.

The second challenge emerged during a larger internal event, where Marketing Directors from Southern Europe needed practical, high-impact applications of AI relevant to their roles, particularly in communication and campaign creation.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY


MLC partnered with Lactalis to overcome internal resistance to Microsoft Copilot by delivering a two-phase initiative. First, it empowered Innovation Champions to become AI ambassadors. Then, it supported Marketing Directors with hands-on use cases, from customer insights to campaign design. SOLUTION

MLC delivered a two-part initiative: an immersive workshop for Innovation Champions to build internal advocacy, followed by a strategic, application-driven workshop with Marketing Directors focused on real-world use cases in marketing and communication.

MLC merged cutting-edge AI prompting with proven presentation design techniques. The first phase focused on enabling Innovation Champions through storytelling, data visualization, and Copilot-based exercises.

The second phase—during the Southern Europe Day convention—applied the same methodology with a marketing focus: participants worked on user-generated content, built data-driven campaigns, and visualized outputs through AI tools.

Driving AI adoption at scale requires both internal ambassadors and leadership engagement. By combining early cultural adoption with executive-level application, MLC positioned Copilot not as a future tool, but as a current ally.

​The Process


Phase 1 – Innovation Champions

• Kick-off with theory: challenges of presentation design, best practices in communication, data storytelling, and visualization.

• Overview of AI evolution, LLMs, and prompt engineering techniques based on Maurizio La Cava’s research.

• Hands-on case study: managers used Copilot to analyze data, cluster reviews, extract insights, and build innovation presentations using the Lean Presentation Strategy Canvas.

Phase 2 – Marketing Directors (Southern Europe Day)

• Focused session on real-world applications, particularly in marketing.

• Case study centered on user-generated content analysis for the brand Siggi’s.

• Copilot used to analyze customer comments, synthesize insights, generate visual campaigns, and create storylines for presentations.

• Final group pitches demonstrated the practical power of Copilot in the marketing communication cycle.

RESULTS

MLC created a core group of Innovation Champions to act as AI ambassadors, enabling executive-level stakeholders to experience the power of AI through concrete use cases.

This initiative boosted AI literacy across multiple business units and helped position Microsoft Copilot as a safe, efficient, and relevant tool for everyday tasks.

CONCLUSION

By anchoring AI training in the everyday business tasks of communication and marketing, MLC turned Microsoft Copilot from a misunderstood tool into a practical, everyday assistant. The two-phased approach ensured long-term cultural impact and immediate tactical wins.
