The Marketing and Communication team at Banca Sella reached out to MLC to improve the effectiveness of their internal presentations. After a successful pilot course, the method was integrated throughout the organization, transforming every presentation into a clearer, more impactful tool aligned with the brand’s visual identity.
In just a few months, what began as a training experiment evolved into an ongoing collaboration, consistently delivering tangible value with each new edition of the course.
cLIENT BACKGROUND
Banca Sella is an Italian banking institution with over a century of history and a distinctive position in the financial landscape thanks to its innovative and digital vision.
The Group has undergone significant transformation over the decades: in the 1970s, it introduced the first ATMs in Italy, and since the 2000s, it has emerged as a digital player with the launch of its first internet banking service, the establishment of the fintech hub Sellalab in 2013, and the debut of Italy’s first Open Banking platform in 2017.
The company has always prioritized the development of its people and the cultivation of a progressive corporate culture, where communication plays a central role.
cHALLENGE
Despite the team’s skills, their presentations were not reaching their full communicative potential. Content was often too dense, charts were hard to read, and layouts were not always consistent with corporate guidelines.
This led to confusing messages, slowing comprehension, and potentially undermining the perceived value of proposals and projects.
Banca Sella needed a structured method to guide teams in creating more concise, effective, and visually polished slides within a limited training timeframe.
MLC partnered with Banca Sella to transform the quality of internal presentations through a compact and tailored Lean Presentation Design course.

SOLUTION
MLC designed a compact Lean Presentation Design course tailored to the company and fully integrated with its official templates.
Every exercise was based on real use cases, making learning immediately useful and applicable to day-to-day work.
The format was designed for maximum impact: practical, streamlined, and instantly usable.
The process began with a pilot session conceived as a qualitative test, attended by the HR manager who had first recognized the strategic value of the training.
The course was custom-built: compact in duration, accessible in language and directly applicable in content. What made the difference was the training’s concrete and practical approach.
By working with real presentations from their everyday tasks, participants tackled real problems and discovered effective visual solutions, guided step by step by an expert trainer.
Each module was adapted to best showcase the Banca Sella brand, demonstrating how graphic consistency can reinforce corporate identity even through slides.
One of the standout elements from the very first sessions was the participants’ energy and engagement. The team’s relatively young average age proved to be a strength: accustomed to digital tools and streamlined communication styles, they enthusiastically embraced a method that combines design with strategy.
Exercises were not seen as tasks, but as opportunities to explore new, faster, and more effective storytelling techniques. The results were evident right away: better command of tools, ability to simplify complex concepts, and a renewed motivation to “do better” even in routine materials.
For many, adopting the MLC method represented a true mindset shift.
The training was delivered in a compact format to fit the company’s time constraints: 6-hour sessions, divided into modules alternating theory and practice, focusing on concrete use cases.
All exercises were built using Banca Sella’s corporate template, which MLC updated and optimized to align with Lean Presentation Design principles. Some modules, like the one on slide master, were carried out directly on the actual file used in the company, enhancing learning and promoting immediate applicability.
The success of the first session led to additional ones being scheduled on a recurring basis for other internal teams.
RESULTS
Presentations were transformed. Participants moved from complex, dense slides to simple, visual, and consistent layouts.
The time required to create a presentation decreased, while perceived quality by recipients improved. Teams became more aware of how to use color, fonts, alignment, and especially visual storytelling.
The method was enthusiastically received, resulting in communication that is more effective, more professional and more in line with Banca Sella’s position in today’s modern banking landscape.
CONCLUSION
This wasn’t just a training course, but it marked the beginning of an evolution in the company’s visual culture. The success of the first edition proved that even a compact, well-designed training can generate lasting and concrete impact.
The method was naturally integrated into daily work thanks to its practicality and immediacy.
Today, Banca Sella teams are more autonomous in creating effective presentations that align with the brand identity. The journey continues, with new editions and further developments, always with the goal of turning every presentation into an opportunity for better, more strategic communication.
